Springfield SAR 8 Problems

I picked up a Springfield SAR 8 rifle at a gun show yesterday that appears to be unfired. After getting home and reading some older threads on various sites that the aluminum recievered Springfield is doomed for failure. They said that it will loosen up and all kind of problems will occur- accuracy,FTF,FTE and so on. The only good thing that I read is that Springfield had a lifetime warranty on this rifle and would replace it with a new M1A when sent back for problems. My question is, is it safe to fire and how many rounds will be fired before problems occur? Has anyone here had any experiences with this rifle and with sending one back to Springfield. Thanks in advance for any help.

If they're really going to trade you one of those alumabombs for an M1A I say don't wait, do it now.

they don't trade them for an M1A... they give you partial credit at their suggested retail price of the SAR8 when your SAR8 was shipped... and this is against list retail price for the M1A... otherwise we would all be buying $600 SAR8's and sending them back...
