best small game cartridge and handgun

What would be the best small game cartridge and handgun? My friend says a K-32 with a 6 inch barrel in 32 S&W Long. Thoughts?

He must have one he wants to sell you. I really like my Model 53. 22 Jet is found every where that has 32's plus I have the incerts to shoot 22 LR.

Why don't you get your friend to sell me the K32 [}:)] They are great pistols and hard to find . However IMHO too much on Squirrels and Rabbits and not enough for Deer my suggestion a Ruger or Browning BUCK-Mark with a red dot sight for rabbits and squirrels Iron sights a great for bulls-eye on paper targets but not the best choice on small game in low light in the hunting environment with small target. I would then get a and a 357 for larger stuff. . If you want a challenge I have a Barrel and Cylinder for a first or second generation Colt Saa it would be right down your line [:p] 5MM [:p]

I second the Buckmark or Ruger Mark III. If you are looking for a value, look at the S&W 22. They are not of the quality of the Ruger or Browning, but they are also half the price. Mine shoots very well. I have a shot a bunch of squirrels with mine.

IMO can't beat a .22 for small game hunting with a handgun. Weather it be a Ruger single six or MK II or III hunter, or a Browning Buckmark, they are all fun and cheap to shoot.

A 22 rf is the way to go on small game, I prefer my little Model 63 S&W for those types of jobs.
Looking at the grips you would think I never use it much [:D]

I have a ruger mkIII hunter 22/45 with the fluted bull barrel. I don't even take my .22 rifle out with me any more when I have that. Great shooter and EXTREMELY accurate. I'd refer this pistol to anyone.
