Remington 597 22lr

I have a Remington 597 22 and I can't keep it zeroed. I have checked and re-checked the screws holding the mounting bar to the gun, the screws holding the rings to the bar, and the screws in the rings themselves. I had a cheap 4x Bushnell Sportview on it and changed that to a Barska 3x9x50. (I know, overkill, but that's all I had lying around) I sighted it in with the Bushnell at 25yds and after it was sighted in I decided to have some fun. After 3 or 4 clips it was shooting 3" or 4" down and to the right. I have since changed to the Barska and have sighted it in, but it won't stay zeroed. I have no idea what to do. Has anyone had or heard of anyone who has had this problem? I like the way the gun feels and I don't want to sell it, but I have no use for a gun that I can't rely on. Any insight will help. Thank you.
