Howdy
Wanted to ask how this affects your shooting. I am about to get this done and wonder what the sights on a pistol or rifle look with the new lens in the eyes ????? Can you shoot ok ? Better or worse than before???
Thanks for any advice.
Pete

Hello Pete Many Bulls-Eye pistol shooters note that because the lens implant is fixed you can then get a Prescription lens for the best focus to be exactly the distance to the front sight[:D]. This keeps the sight from going out of focus even if you by mistake try to look at the target. [:p][:p] and we all know in BULLS-EYE pistol shooting the the first and most important rule is "WATCH THE FRONT SIGHT" . I have not asked them about rifle shooting.

Since I see better I can shoot better. Wish I had it done sooner.

Duckhunter What was your down time? I am having one of those Japanese cars (CADARAC) in my rt eye and they say it isn't ripe as yet? Spring bear and then August for other tags to start. Don't want to miss hunting...Pat[:)][8D][:D]

A friend just had his done. Says it made one heck of a difference. He was shooting a week later. I have one started on left eye, like looking through sheer curtin, for over a year now. Like pic1 says, not ripe yet. Glad right eye is shooting one.

My cataracts got so bad I couldn't read a car license plate at more than three feet away. Now I can see clearly, including rifle sights. Sighting out the window it appears I can shoot okay, but haven't been to range in years to try it out.

I had one and now my shooting eye works great. Before the surgery I suspected my scope was going bad even though it worked with my left eye. Now my right (shooting) eye is 20/20. If I remember right, I was told to not shoot anything with recoil for a couple of months.

Went from 20/400 to 20/20 both eyes. No pain and was able to read the next day. The Doctor told me not to shoot rifle or shotgun for about two weeks. She was concerned about the recoil disturbing the surgery. Worked great in terms of shooting. If you are going to have one eye focused at "iron sight" range just remember that you will also be reading at about the same distance since your close up eye will have a fairly short range of focus. I also used to have to wear glasses for about 15 years.

My experience was also good. I can now shoot rifle and pistol with both eyes open. Had the surgery on Wednesday and shot a coyote on Saturday with a 223.

By ripe the vision must be 20/50 corrected. This is determined by the insurance co. In some countries, lens replacement is done to correct vision.(ie Italy) Usually in the mid 20s age. Great improvement in vision, both daytime an nighttime.

I am a shooting vision specialist and eyedoc. We implant today focusable lenses, great for shooters. Find a cataract specialist in your area and discuss the newer designs with him/her. Cataract IOL's are very good and the procedures are wonderful, fast and safe.
