.357 metal peircing

I recently aquired a partial box of western Super X 158 gr metal point .357 magnum ammo they are marked metal peircing in a yellow blue and red box there are 26 rounds all in super shape could anyone give me and approx value .I am trying to figure if it would be worth and auction .I got these from a friend I needed brass and this is part of what he brought me .I can best be contacted at gundoc2000@yahoo.com

I don't know what it's worth nowadays? Years ago I was given some similar stuff. Because the guy I got it from didn't like the muzzle blast. After I shot some of it up, and was fixing to reload the brass. Found out it used large pistol primers, not small. Never ran into anything like that since. Don't know if all were primed with large pistol primers though?

Jeez, I have a full box of that stuff I bought in 1968 during the riots. I never thought about it being collectible these days. Hmmmm.....

I have some of that ammo. I used to carry it as back-up ammo back when we carried revolvers.

Its not "armor piercing" per say, like steel core ammo. Its an FMJ bullet with a sharp point and will penetrate car doors.

I doubt it has much collector value as collectors are usually looking for full boxes

I believe that manufacture, importation, & transfer of armor piercing ammunition intended for handguns is prohibited by the Violent Crime Enforcement Act of 1994.

The 357 Metal Piercing does not meet definition of armor piercing ammo. Used to use them on the "reload" part of the PPC course- they feed into a cylinder MUCH quicker than wadcutter!
