Limbsaver Recoil-How Precision?

I'm looking at ordering a precision-fit Limbsaver recoil pad for my Winchester 88 .308. I'm just curious how "precision" are their precision-fit pads? As long as the template from their website looks good and matches up with my stock, am I good to go? Thanks.

They're a very good match judging by the ones I've bought. The base of the pad where it meets the stock has a rounded angle to it that allows for a bit of manufacturing tolerances.

Only problem I've had is that the screw holes don't line up, but are close to the existing holes in the buttstock. Makes lining things up a pain, I fill the screw holes & redrill.

I put one on my Ruger Compact rifle (6 1/2 lb), and it is a little oversized. I had to drill one hole for the screw nearest the toe of the stock.
The pad makes my 308 feel more like a 243 when using my 150 gr handload. Just be aware that it will add about 5/8" to the length of pull.

No two stocks are EXACTLY the same, so a perfect fit on mine might be a tad off on anothers. If the template matches your stock then go ahead and get it. Be sure you printed it off full scale, not "fit to printer margins" or whatever it's called where it resizes it. Good luck, you'll love it. It's the only pad I use in the shop anymore. as said before it reduces most all felt recoil.
