Trying to establish an approximate value of a Sauer & Sohn Revolver in about 60% condition. Can't find any reference to the weapon in the auctions or the Blue Book.
Markings on the item: S&S V.C.S. Suhl CCH 1881. One of the few references I could find on Google said the CCH stood for C.C. Hubbard who accepted these guns for the U.S. Army in WWI.

I don't think the U.S ARMY ever had any 1881 German Pistols. More then likely a German 10.6 MM service revolver if 7" barrel model 1879 if 4&5/8 barrel it is model 1883 the barrel should be Oct. last inch or so toward the frame. with a safety lever on left side.Pictures would help.

"CCH" shuld be read "C.G.H." It stands for C.G. Haenel a German firearms manufacturer. Along with "S. & S."= Spangenberg & Sauer and "V.C.S."= V.C. Schilling, they were partners in the manufacture of the German military, Model 1879 Reichsrevolver.

These revolvers are now sought after by collectors. If you could post quality pictures of it, our members could help you with a valuation.
