Colt Pocket Nine

A fellow just offered one to me for sale. I'm not much of a compact semi auto guy, but after a quick browse on here I see that they've been going for well over 500.00.

He wants 400 for it (used, great shape but no box), and I'm wondering if the prices that I see on the auction side are a recent development, or if I can expect this to hold some value for the future.

Any body have one, they seem to be in short supply. Are they worth the money if I can find one?

Need general info on the gun. How long in production, reliability, function, accuracy, approx value?

I would grab it for that price. Colt only made them for a short period of time. I had heard it was some sort of a patent dispute, that terminated production. The price almost seems to be to good. Make sure the pistol is factory original and functional. If everything checks out. Go for it. My 2?.

Buy it and sell it on GB. Collectible prices can change on a whim.
Get a good profit now and reinvest instead of waiting for a huge payoff on a future value that might not arrive.

If the seller is willing, tell him you want to take the gun home to have it inspected. Photograph it in detail (no dark pictures) and post the photos here in this forum to get opinions.

Also, ask the seller if he's willing to let you put a box of bullets through the gun. If so, just buy a box of standard target loads. This of course will let you know how the gun functions. AND, while the gun's unloaded, check out the safety as well. Sometimes the safety feels and acts like it's working but is not.

Most guns like this should be in pretty good shape.
