i never gave them much much thought before i aquired a barrel with out one even thou i have them in several guns .the gun in question is a mossy 500 . at a gun show i asked and aquired an external win choke told it would fit .so i installed it when i got home and looked down the bore, it didnt look quite right .so i took a pencil and proceded to feel the junction of barrel and tube .to my surprise it wasnt very smooth ,better out then in .so i compared it to other chokes a remy 1100 and a moss 835 .the 835 i know is factory matched and is the best fit but i can still feel the transition ,the 1100 was decent .

my question is ,is this normal ?

do the mossberg and winchester chokes interchange ?
