winchester m70 wood upgrade?

can the stock on a ranger model be interchanged with other m70 guns to get a better looking gun ? i see take offs at gun shows and wonder if they fit with out too much work .....

    If this is a 90's M70 Ranger, have at it! Basically the only difference between them is the cheap hardwood stock and lack of checkering and good finish. The actions, triggers and barrels are the same. Winchester actually offered a new upgrade walnut stock at 1/2 price to replace the Ranger Youth stock if bought at the time of the original purchase of the Ranger Youth model.
