John Wayne Coach Gun

A neibor brought in a new in the case Baikal made John Wayne commemorative double barreled 12 ga coach gun. I've looked in all of my sources and can't find any referance to the gun, let alone a value. It has a letter of of origin, with the corresponding numbers, it's number is 15xx, meaning there where likely 2,000 of them built. It was sold by European American Armory, they paid $1,500.00 for it on a time payment plan four years ago, now they want to sell it. Can anyone help me with a value? It is a nice looking gun for what it is, nice wood and gold inlaid. Any help is truely appreciated.

I know there have been forums about this gun before but I couldn't find any recent details. Does anyone know how much the John Wayne Coach Gun is worth (the edition number is in the 1700s)? I am helping my dad and I have not been very successful in finding any information for him. The only sites I have found state that the gun has sold for around $1800.00. Please help me! I don't want my dad to get taken advantage of by someone who wants to trade it to him. [:)]

Here's a new Baikal (now labelled as a Remington) coach gun - $295 new. I doubt the "John Wayne" adds much to it's value.

$1500.00 OUCH You friend must of liked it at one time I suggest he drink a bottle of single malt scotch and fall in love again most likely $1000.00 or more is down the toilet.

Just another example of a "made to be a collectible" gun not being worth what it sold for new. When will people learn.

He doesn't need to put a value on it.

All he has to do is list it on Gunbroker for, say, $250, with no reserve. No one knows how much he will get for; it may bring more than he paid, maybe less. Whatever he gets WILL be the value. That's as straight-forward as it gets.

I totaly agree with you, I told him when I saw the gun that he had made a sizable donation. I have a regular old Baikal coach gun that I payed $200.00 for used.

Found out that "America Rembers" sold the gun, and they claim on thier web site that they will resell the gun. Dam if I know, sounds like when two fools met.
