Can an FFL be transfered...

from one person to another and keep the same business name ??

i.e., if i bought my friends business, can his license be transfered to me ?

    "Licenses issued under this part are not transferrable."
    --- ATF P5300.4, page 49.

    But, there's no reason that you can't apply for a license under your own name (DBA - previous name). You can then make whatever business deal you want with your buddy for the name, fixtures, stock, etc.

    The Federal licensing is between you & the fellas with the bulges in the cheap suits.

    only if the business is incorperated (ie Joes Guns, Inc.) then the corperation ouwns the license and you are buying the corperation.
