Colt original grips?
![postman54563](https://forums.gunbroker.com/applications/dashboard/design/images/defaulticon.png)
I have a nickel Colt Officers model match, 38 special, that I purchased recently. It came with a set of bone grips on it. I would like to purchase a pair of original grips for it, but am unsure of the correct ones. What frame model is this, ETC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will have to search places like Gun Shows, eBay and even here on Gun broker for a pair.
The Grips you seek are the "Target" type, exactly the same as you would find on a 1956 Model Python.
They are the Full Checkered Walnut with Colt Medallions.
Expect to pay $125.00 or more for nice pair.
Good luck with the hunt.
The original grips are no longer offered for sale by Colt.

That reference to the 1956 Python is an important one - later Python grips, although they'll fit, are not configured exactly as the 50's version. And about $125.00 sounds right, although you may get lucky at a gun show and find someone who doesn't know what they have.
An interim fix, Colt service stocks with a Tyler T Grip or Pachmayr's version of the T grip will be easier to find & less expensive.

There were a few Trooper MK IIIs made in 1969 using the older Trooper frame, definitely a hard to find item.
And be aware Diamondback grips are sometimes confused for Python or OM Trooper grips also.
