Need ammunition recommendations 4 Africa

Hi all,
Headed to Africa for plains game (Kudu, Impala, Zebra, Warthog) Never thought I'd get the chance to go - not likely to go back, so I don't take the chance on a poorer choice ammo.
We'll take a .270 and a 30-06. Both bolt actions. Been practicing with 'cost friendly ammo' and good at 200 yds with that. Ready now for the final tweaks with what we'll take to use. Looks like there are a lot of choices out there everything from these new Fusions to Noslers, etc.
Given these critters have tougher hides than what we shoot at here in the mid-west, I don't have the info as to what will be true at 200 yds and give proper expansion. Nor will testing on paper give me experience on proper expansion.
I'd like to go with 180 grain or larger for th '06 and 150 or larger for the .270. What are the recommendations?

180 grains for the 30-06 and 150 grains for the .270 should be sufficient.
One last thing. I would be practicing out to 300 yards. You are probably paying quite a bit to go over there. I would hate for you to have to pass on a shot opportunity just because you don't feel comfortable with shooting over 200 yards. Also, get a set of shooting sticks (the three legged kind) and practice with them. Unless you are going to be blind hunting over a water hole, your time will be spent spotting and stalking. When the shot presents itself, you want to be intimately familiar with shooting off of sticks, cuz the shot opportunity will likely pass quickly.
The Outfitter said "get the best partition bullets you can, you don't want to scrimp on ammo and you may not be able to buy exactly what you are used to when you get over there."
And OK, I'll admit it - I'm not sure what a partition bullet is or what makes it special. I'm guessing it has to do with the expansion and the idea that projectiles passing through the target do not maximize the possible damage you could have done.
Thanks.
Here is an artical explaining the pertition bullet:
