eliminating ring marks

Some time ago a fella at a gunshow told me that if you coat the inside of scope rings with ????????? you avoid maring your scope. Any one know of this trick? Or any other way to solve the ring mark problem. thanx in advance

a ring lapping tool is avilable from sinclair. In use this tool for every scope I mount. A properly lapped set-up will yield no ring marks.

Use Burris Signature Rings, no ring marks, no alignment problems.
