Chrome-Moly Barrels: Advantages/Disadvantages??

My wife brought home a new shotgun for me today -- a Legacy Escort youth 20 gauge auto. Probably wouldn't have been my first choice, but, hey, whenever your wife brings you a gun home out of the blue, it's a good thing. In any case, it actually is a really appealing gun to me. Made in Turkey, and really seems to be put together very well and has a really nice walnut stock, particularly for the price (under $300). The smaller youth size actually is really good too (I'm short, so it fits and makes for quick handling).

Anyhow, I notice that the shotugun has a chrome-lined chrome-moly barrel. Can anyone tell me whether that's a good thing, bad thing. or neither?

Thanks.

Chrome lining aids in cleaning, makes the bore corrosion resistant, and allows for steel shot to be used without scratching the bore. This is the same stuff used in many military guns.

Chrome Moly is simply the alloy of carbon steel used to make the barrel itself, and is some of the best out there for firearms.
