just took my new m15 out yesterday to shoot for the first time. i grabbed some wolf military classic ammo that i had laying around. unfortunately, the action would not cycle with this ammo. i could feel the bolt come back but just not far enough to grab the next round from the mag. no ftf or fte. just couldn't cycle. has anyone else had this problem? next time i'll take some umc's with me, someone please tell me that they will clear up the problem? thanks guys.

Get out there today and try a couple different types of ammo. Too many reasons that could cause a problem, but I am betting it is the ammo.

The military classic is underloaded compared to their normail black box line. I have similar issues in my new DPMS, but my broken in Colt eats it fine.

Wehrmacht_45: that is what i suspected. cycle time seemed to be pretty slow to me but then again, this is my first ar type weapon. i have some remington umc already purchased and i intend to test it out this sunday. i'll buy a small amount of black box wolf and give it a try as well. i know it's junk, but i've never had any problems with it being underpowered in my other guns.

Armalite's tend to be tight guns in the first place, and I often see many AR's from different manufacturers having problems with the Military Classic. The other Wolf stuff seems to be better though, but Armalite's can be funny at first and sometimes need a little tweaking.

ok gsmyth64 so then the next question for you would be: do you think it'll be shootable ammo after the gun is broke in? or should i find someone else who shoots .223 and give them the military classic i have left?

You could shoot it up, but it just may be a pain in the * is all. And maybe bring a rod to the range with you to remove stuck cases. Now if the gun won't cycle with other ammo, Armalite may need to tweak the gun like I said.

I found that my DPMS will eat it better as it gets work in, but to help I lubed the ever loving heck out of it to make it cycle with less effort.
