It will chamber. But the 32 ACP bullet is .309 vs the 32 S&WL at .312. So accuracy may suffer and the bullet will not fill the grooves and you will have some gas blow by.

About 35 years ago when I didn't know any better I got a 32 long revolver. There was 2 boxes of ammo with it, one being 32 auto. I found that the auto would fit in the cylinder but it wouldn't go off as the firing pin would move the round slightly forward in the cylinder and would not set off the round.

32 auto is rimless. 32 long is rimmed . Don't see how it would be possible to fire unless you made something like 1/2 moon clips. Not worth the effort.

.32 ACP FMJ works just fine in my .32 S&W Long revolver. No problems with firing or extracting. Recoil is mild.

I have never noticed any accuracy problems at the short range that most .32L revolvers are used.

Actually it's semi-rimless (rim is slightly larger than the body), and depending on the tolerances (of both the ammo and the revolver) may work acceptably in a 32L revolver.

Thanks Tailgunner. I will put that in my knowledge base. Not that I would try it , but I can see where it could be possible.
