I came across a No4 Mk1 today and took a look at it and it had writing on the left side of the receiver. "No4 MK1 ROF (F) 5/43"
It also only had 2 grooves in the barrel.
Does any one know what the writing stands for?
Thanks.

the (F) is the factory, Faltzby(not sure of the spelling). the 5/43 is the date of Mfg May ,1943. Two groove barrels were common on the mid to late war guns, They shoot about as well as the standard 5 groove barrels.
I was wondering about the 2 grooves, and if the barrel was meant to be that way or if it was a bad barrel.
Thanks again.
