Norwegian Krag Rear Sight

Hello Friends,
Here's a strange one for you. Where do you suppose I should start looking for a replacement rear sight or rear sight leaf (that's all I really need) for a 1912 Norwegian Krag Jorgensen in
6.5x55mm. None of the American Krags have a sight remotely like this one, so Springfield parts won't help, Numrich Arms won't help, Jack First won't help, and I am waiting to hear from the Krag Collectors' Forum. I love the rifle, it is in very good-excellent condition on the outside, the bore is a bit funky from corrosive ammunition, I suppose, but vigorous brushing is improving it. Any help, or any comments, information in general on this rifle would be appreciated and acknowledged. I think it is neat and really want it in shooting condition,
and no I will not use currently loaded ammunition, it might be a little hot for it.
Thanks, friends,
Kari (kari@calmoto.com)

Thank you for the leads, I am following up on both. I refuse to give up on this because the rest of the rifle is nearly perfect!
best regards, Kari
And you might try emailing GB member HappyNanoq, I know he has a Norwegian or Danish Krag, and lives in Denmark and Greenland.
Surprise me with the depth of your knowledge! ;^)
Newly minted Krag enthusiast,

I have a 1919 Norwegian Krag Jorgensen in 6.5x55mm.[8D] I really like it and shoot it every chance I get. I bought it in the early 70's from the estate of a competition shooter. I got the dies, cases, and bullets he used. It's a real good shooter. It has a peep sight on it. I cannot read anything on the front globe but the peep has "PACIFIC" on it. Springfield Sporters had been carrying parts for the Norwegian Krags. Google them. [:D]
Jim the PA hunter, what kind of loads do you use in yours? I have assumed I will have to load down for it and not shoot from current load information.
Always optimistic,
Kari
I use IMR 4064 and H380 with 100 gr and 140 gr. bullets. I'll check my data and get back to you with the exact loading info. I've always used the Lyman reloading book and the Hodgdon reloading book. I start out at their suggested starting loads and never go past the half way point to their maximum suggested loads. I used to be able to put the 140 pill into a 2" group at 100 with the peep sight but my eyesight isn't as good as it used to be. I use three inch orange dot stickers on a black background at 60 yards and can hold them all well in it. My nephew was able to hit old golf balls with it at 60 yards consistantly. Of coarse his eyes are much younger than mine![:D] HA!
I have pics of my 6.5 Krag on my web pages, click here: My Web Pages
