a hard choice to make

I am looking for a new pistol and ive narrowed my search down to 3 springfield xd 357, SIG p229 40, and SIG p220 45. I am looking for something to be a everyday carry. I have shot all of them and i like them all but there is something about SIG the makes me lean towards them. Does anyone have both and can tell a defference? accuracy?

I'm sorta old and set in my ways, and I'm a diehard 1911 fan, I sometimes carry a five shot 2" 38spl. That said, if I didn't have all of the old habits I have I would carry the Sig, alot of my freinds carry them and I have shot many of them. They are great guns, super dependable, good fit and finish, a real fine handgun.

Either Sig works. Hold them and see what works for you....

The 229 would be easier to carry. It is more compact.

I am thinking you should get all 3. However, if you must choose only one, then opt on the safe side with the SIG 220.

Just picked up a Sig 220 Carry Elite. It smokes. The 220 carry is a fantastic gun. Maybe throw that into the mix. But based on waht you are looking for go with the 229 and think about it in the 357 sig. Thats a hell of a little round.

i really like the the elite, but im looking to only spend 650, and it seems hard to find a SIG. Ive only found a few for that price with the rail.

also i see that noone mentioned anything about a xd. is that they are not as accuratr or is it something else.

i have an xd in .40 so i cant' say anything about the .357sig, i've never shot one. i absolutely love every single thing about my xd but then again, i dont' have the good fortune of having a sig also that i can compare it to. fwiw.

I've got both XD'S and Sig's. I would say go with the one you feel most comfortable with.
