What the heck is Franzite? :Looks like cheap plastic to me. You tell me. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

    It is definitely plastic, such as was available 50+ years ago.
    Cheap, yes, especially the fako stag. But they had some good shapes.

    Had several set of Franzite grips back in the '60's. Felt great but after a few years all warped badly.

    Franzite grips date from the late 1930s. My uncle gave me a .22 Colt revolver with bad grips that I replaced with Franzites @ $1.25. Same problems with shrinkage, etc.
