Rossi model 62

I have a Rossi model 62 gallery rifle in 22lr. Is it safe to also shoot shorts in it also? While it doesn't specify s,l,lr on the gun, I would assume you can. Am I correct or is this practise unsafe?

I have a Rossi Model 62-22 in Mint condition.the serial number is G354960.does anyone know when this was made and what this gun is worth?Thanks

Hello It won't hurt the barrel but may cause buildup in chamber in front of the short case that would have to be removed before going back to long rifle. However the rounds may not feed as a repeater.

It's a pump gun so that's why I figured it'd be no problem.
