I have a High Standard Supermatic Trophy 5 1/2" Military Model 106 .22 cal handgun. In excellent condition...only shot a few times over 40 years ago. It is in its orginal box with balance weights and muzzle brake.(cat # 9245) extra mag. too. What is a fair price for this handgun.

This was given to a PA State trooper that I know in 2001 when he retired.
Any comments on it's value would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Keith
I appraised a home this morning and instead of getting a check the homeowner offered me a s/s S&W Mdl 629-5 2" in .44 mag cal. Before I say anything I need to know what the value is on this puppy. Therefore, any help would be appreciated.

The serial number range for 9245 Supermatic Trophys is from about 1,436,178 which shipped in March 1965 through about 1,599,869 which shipped in late 1966 None were in the ML prefix serial number range or the SH serial number range. All Supermatic Trophys in this range will not necessarily be 9245's since old stock not sold by teh end of 1966 was sold without teh accessories as catalog number 9247. Based on present research results, this overlap extends as low as serial number 1,592,917 which shipped in November 1966.
The actual eye appeal is in my opinion far more important when determining the value thatn how much a gun was fired. It was during teh 106 series roduction that they discontinues teh very high gloss finish associated with the earlier High Stadnard Supermatic Trophys. Collectors will generally pay a premium for the high gloss finish versions found on teh 106 Suermatic Trophys only in teh first couple of years.
You realy haven't provided sufficient data to speculate on the price of your pistol
Hello with out pictures it is hard to say but $650.00 + is in the ball park depends on the market .Guns with just numbers in the serial bring more then ones that start with ML and the ones that start with SH bring even less. With your serial make the last 2 digits an X we can tell you what year it was shipped.
14935XX is the serial number. I would be more than happy to send you some pictures of the gun if I could figure out how to use this system...I can always do it on my normal email system. whatever you think is best.
thanks
Ed
A 106 Supermatic Trophy with the accessiories and box that were a part of the 9245 catalog number dewscription are worth a significane premium to collectors if verified as original in the factory records.
