Hi I would like to buy either an Encore or the CVA equivalent, I was wondering If yall had any ideas on which is "better" I'll be useing it for whitetail deer mostly, so ill start with a muzzleloader barrel and probably a .270
Any thoughts?
thanks

depends on how much you want to spend...Both are excellent for muzzleloaders as well as rifles...For my money, I would go with the Encore, simply because of the versatility and availability of different calibers. You can also go with the Pro Hunter barrels on the Encore frame..Good Luck

I don't have experience with the CVA but have an Encore with three centerfire rifle barrels and a 50 cal ML barrel. The components all interchange well and the barrels are very accurate. Service by TC is good too. One of the barrels is a 7mm Rem Mag of the fluted Pro-Hunter SS variety. The first one I had wouldn't shoot well; couldn't do better than about 4 MOA with a variety of handloads. Sent it in to TC and they promptly sent a replacement which is accurate. You can't go wrong with the Encore.

I have an Optima Muzzleloader and it's a great Muzzleloader.

However, if you are wanting the versatility of a Centerfire, go with nothing but an Encore. The availability of Parts, Barrels, etc way out number those for the CVA.
Half of the lives they tell about me aren't true.

You are comparing BMW to Chevy's. They are both good black powder, but the TC will be a much better gun, and will hold value alot better than the CVA.

I have a whole big bunch of respect for the Encore. It is a hoot to be able to change calibers in about 60 seconds. Accuracy with the better known barrels is awesome.
