What's everyones opinion of these as a CC backup. I've know several people who have owned them and found them reliable. Thinking about buying one.

Zero or less. Get a good, hard, throwing size rock instead.
    edit:
If inexpensive, .22 and decent quality are the objectives, what about one of the NAA .22 LR or WMF revolvers. I bought a new one a few years ago and have maybe 50 rounds through it with no complaints or problems. I did see one at a gun show that did not work properly.

Satstrat, surely you have been around here long enough to know not more that one or two people here consider the Jennings/Brycon/Davis products even marginally useful for boat anchors, much less actually shooting.

I'd pretty agree about all but perhaps the .22. I've not owned one. But like I said, have known others who did and let me fire them. The one's I saw worked.
But OK, what would you advise for a small CHEAP pocket pistol?

Ortgies only goes .25 and .32. and they are starting to go up in price. My choice would probably be a PP or PPK, or a Tarus .38. I don't suppose I would care to trust my life to something less, but I suppose you could argue a poor gun is better than no gun.

I hate it when we are asked about a defense gun, & the most important quality is CHEAP.

But, you know more about guns than the average poster, so I guess there's no point lecturing you....

You should consider the Bersa, or Makarov. The Beretta 950 or 21 are good choices in a subcaliber, if size is important. And, Kel-Tecs are not expensive & pretty reliable.

EDIT: OK, I give up. MY backup is a Beretta 950 in .25, in a leather wallet holster.

LOL! My CC is a Makarov. This would be a backup. Something even smaller than the Mak in .22 Cal.

I used a Jennings .22 for a secondary gun for a short time. When it was clean, it was reliable, and would shoot about 15 times before it got gunky and started jamming. That was plenty because the magazine held way fewer than 15 rounds.

Not a high quality gun- but if you have one, feed it CCI Stingers- and it is more likely to work.

Perhaps, in order to possibly save your life, you should choose a new group of friends. As Neil mentioned, why is price an issue in this situation?
It's too late for me, save yourself.
