how old are these guns? M1 carbine and M94XTR?

My grandfather was going through some of his old guns and came across two that caught his eye. He is wondering just how old they are and what they may be worth, if anything. They are an .30 Caliber M1 carbine made by IBM serial number 3904979 and a Winchester .30-30, M94XTR serial number 5024843. Anyone know anything or know where I could find out it would be much appreciated.

If your Model 94XTR is a Winchester built gun (versus U.S. Repeating Arms Co.), it was made in late 1980. If the butt plate has the U.S.R.A.Co. logo on it, it was made in 1981.

The M1 was made between '42 and '45. Too many factors come into play on these to give a value without seeing it.

can't really help with the age but for value you could try checking out closed auctions to see what guns like yours have sold for over the last 90 days , just use the smart search on the home page

the winchester could be any where from a $300 beater to a 700 dollar excellent condition gun , all depends on condition

same with the M1 could be a $500 gun or maybe a $1000 all depends on what it is, how original it is , over all condition
