I bought a rifle with a leupold 1.5-5x20 Vari-X III scope on it. It takes very, very little effort to change the power settings from one to another. I have other Leupolds and all of them take 3-4 times the effort to change powers. Is this something that would concern you? Should I send it to the factory for evaluation or just live with it?

Hello all, i was considering a leupold "Rimfire" scope (4x compact) for my marlin 35 remington . this scope would be a the perfect size and power for my purpose. my question is..............the fact it is a rimfire scope would it hold up on my centerfire as a standard VX-I or vx-II..ect centerfire scope would? is the only real difffernces the facts that the paralax is shorter and the reticle is a fine duplex? your thoughts?

Why take the chance when you do not have to.

All Leupold scopes are built to the same recoiling standards. So simply, yes you can use it.They can also be used on air rifles. It will be different in parallax only.Leupold does also make the same(compact size) scopes called Ultralight. The 3-9 is 150 yd parallax. They also have a 2-7 in the Ultralight, but gloss finish only

It will hold up to the centerfire perfectly. It is not the scopes design that is compromised in the least. It is the same M8 scope they have always had. The only difference is the parallax has been set for 50-75 yards instead of 100. I do believe they also make a 4X compact that does not have the rimfire parallax focus.
