How does a person date the Savage model 24 22 over 410? Does anyone know what years they were manufactured? I have a couple with wood stocks and the barrel selector on the side. Any help will be appreciated.

I own a model 24.....o/u .22/20gauge I recently purchased a red dot scope that requires a 3/4 wide base scope mount to clamp onto. I'm trying to find a clamp on type of scope mount, without drilling into the .22 barrel, Any ideas?

I have a Savage model 24 .22/.410 that I need some info on. It has no serial numbers on it (from the factory, not removed). It has a stamp on the receiver that is an oval with 26L in it. It has a walnut stock. The gun is in like new condition. The blueing is next to perfect and it's very obvious this gun has been very well taken care of.
Now what I need to know is this, when was this firearm made and what is this gun worth?

I am looking for a barrel set for my Savage mod. 24 series M. It is a .22 win. mag. over 20 gauge. The 22 barrel was damaged beyond repair. Any advice would help.

I know this is pretty vague, but it's the best I can do.I looked at a mdl.24 at a show over the weekend, it's a nice gun in about 70% condition, 22/410, wood stock, I'm pretty sure it's an older model w/top lever. I haven't bought a Blue Book for quite awhile, but from my observations, it seems like they sell pretty high. I think I can pick this one up for $175-$200, but my book has $160 for 100%. Can someone help me out with a value?

    Thanks, Grizztribefans@sssnet.com

Can it truly be that Savage has decided to discontinue the Model 24? Don't see it in the Savage website, so assume it is no longer available. If so, I am VERY SAD! I sure wish we could get those Czechs making a nice 7x57R/12ga Over-Under that are as nice as the CZ sghotguns.

My Savage Model 24, .22LR/.410, has no serial number. It was made between 1950-1965. If I sold it as a C&R, I'd need to be certain it was made no later than 1963.

It has the top of tang barrel release and right side button barrel selector.

Maybe someone can tell me the year of mfg. and provide a link to confirmation info.

    Thanks
