Who makes Taylor and Co. single action revolvers. Specifically their Richard Mason Conversions and Open Tops?

Most all of that stuff, I've run into recently is Italian. If you have physical access to the revolver? It should have their proofs, and maybe manufacturers marking.

If it's a replica cartridge conversion, on the other hand. It's always possible that it was assembled in the States with enough U.S. made parts, that it wouldn't require the Italian proofs etc.

I know its Italian. Just not sure if its Armi Sport, Uberti, or Pietta.

I dont have access to one, I am considering having one ordered and just like you know the pedigree of what I am getting.

That's a good question. I don't know who makes them. The distributors seem to be pretty closed mouth sometimes regarding those questions. Not sure why.

Taylor's tech help is lukewarm from my experience, but give those folks a call or email:

Bought a Second Model Dragoon from Taylors. Beautiful.
    It's an Uberti.

Almost all the importers are using Uberti or Pietta it seems. I would rather an Uberti, but Pietta has come miles in the past few it seems.
