Shipping rifle receivers?

I have 2 stripped AR-15 lowers. Was going to build them up for the boys when they got older. Now I'm thinking of just buying them Mini 14's instead. If I wanted to sell the the receivers what is necessary for me to ship them? I understand that they are treated just like rifles but am not sure how to properly ship them.

So I need to get an ffl to ship it for me, or can I do it myself?

Long guns can be shipped ( to a FFL holder,) through the U.S. mail. No notification or markings should be on the package(s) identifying them as being either firearms or firearm parts. This includes the address, i.e If your selling them to Bubbas Gun Parts, you would just use Bubbas name without the "Gun Parts", i.e. Bubba Clinton.

You don't need a FFL to ship your guns. All that is required that you ship it to a FFL.

How do I know without a copy?

Just make the buyer send you a copy. Might use the FFL EZ Check.

AND be sure that the RECEIVING FFL is willing to accept a shipment from a non-FFL. Some are goosy about that. DO send them a copy of your ID so they have verification of who you are to enter it in their bound volume. For a long gun, you can mail, or ship UPS ground, or FedX.
