Need Opinion on Scope for Browning BLR 81

I recently purchased a Browning BLR 81 Lightweight .300 Win Mag. I would like to put a descent scope on it, but I am in need of some guidance. What would be the best scope for the money to put on it? I would like to use this rifle for deer, possible elk and antelope. Thanks in advance for your time. KV

I say a Burris, Leupold, or Nikon...in that order, because the Burris offers the best eye relief. This rifle should have enough recoil to knock both the givver and reciever into next week Thursday. I would go for either a standard 3-9x, or a Signature 3-12x

Its really a question of how much you want to spend and what kind of hunting you'll be doing. The suggested choices are all good although you can spend twice as much if cost isn't a concern. I've been pretty happy with the 2.5-8X32 Vari-X III Leupold I have on one of my BLRs. There are some good articles in the gun magazines about choosing a scope so you might want to Google the subject and read some of those. Lots of technical issues to consider but I agree with TSR1965 that with a hard recoiling rifle eye relief is certainly a priority.

I would add Pentax to the list.
