I saw some CZ-82's for sale, 9x18 caliber. Anyone have an opinion on this pistol?

Is the cz-82 reliable and does the ammo work well and is it easy to find? Thanks for your help.

For the money I think they are the best deals going. 82's are built like a tank and very reliable.

Ammo is not hard to find on the net, gun shows or the larger gun shops.

If one of the name manufactures were to make them today I think they would sell for $500.00 or more.

Good guns, just try to hold the one you buy. Some look good but have had the hell shot out of them, and some are rough and tight.

The only difference between the CZ82 and the commercial CZ83 is really fit and finish as far as I can tell. I recommend replacing the recoil spring ever 1-2k rounds. Another good and reliable deal is the FEG PA63, or a real Makarov if you can find one. However they are lower capacity.

CZ 82 is a beautiful and complicated but reliable gun, ammo is fairly available. I get winchester at my local GS for 16 per 50, sounds high till you pay shipping for those 10 dollar boxes, I'm happy

CZ 82 is a milsurp gem. Most of the pieces coming into the US at this time are unissued or very lightly used. The main differences between the 82 and the commericial 83 are the caliber, 82 is military 9mm MAK and the 83 is 9mmKurz/.380 ACP (you can find a .32ACP 83 very occasionally); 82 has 6 sided polygonal rifling, the 83 has conventional land and groove rifling. The CZ82 is very accurate and reliable - hell, it's a CZ made for the Czech military and state police.

I should add: We sold 5 CZ82s at the Valley Forge PA gun show last weekend - 3 looked to be unissued and 98 to 100% finish, one looked to be around 95% finish with a few nicks to the milspec baked enamel finish slide and one was a bit more battered and looked to be around 90%. All came with brand new, ambi holster, extra mag, cleaning rod and lanyard and sold for $249. We also had one CZ83 in .380ACP in about 95% commercial blued finish with one mag for $325. It didn't sell. The 82, in my opinion, is a much better value, uses less expensive ammo and is a just a tad more powerful.

The CZ83 has been made in 9mm mak as well.
