AR -15 question

Two questions really.(1) Why are there two recoil buffer springs of different lengths in my CAR collapsible stock kit? (2) Why are there 2 different types of recoil buffers also? One buffer is round on the face and one is like a hex head bolt with 3 rounded corners and 3 flat.(or a circle with 3 flats, depending on your point of view)
Thanks!

    B17-P51,

I would think, because I can't say for certain on this is that having two springs is for full auto. When in full auto the harmonics of one spring won't properly keep time with the firing. Thus the second spring has a different length and strength.

It could also be that one works when the stock is collapsed and the the other or both work when the stock is extended.

Those are just a couple ideas, but I can't say for certain which, if either, it is.

The buffers should be different weights, with a spring to go with each, for a different rate of fire.
