    Remingtons have a date code stamped on the barrel near the receiver. It will be something like B G.

    The first letter indicates the month as follows:

    B L A C K P O W D E R X with B meaning Jan. L meaning Feb, etc.

    Some of the year codes are as follows:

    1932 A, 1933 B, 1934 C, 1935 D, 1936 E, etc.
