That Stevens that I discussed in the previous post is strange. As far as I can tell both the Favorite and the Crackshot had the stock fit to the receiver with tang screws. This one has a stock bolt, and no tangs ???

I will need to dig through several references later today to see what I can come up with. Can you post (or send me) a few pictures of it?

No, sorry, no pictures, I still have not gotten one of those digital cameras, gettin' old. Also there are no markings at all on the receiver (that I can find) and the action does appear to be very similar to the Favorite. The rear sight is an unadjustable (for elevation) dovetailed v. I do not have a lever, bolt, etc for it. Thanks again

hrf, yes that is it. I got the receiver cleaned up enough to read "Crackshot 26" on the left side.
