What is the best publication for finding out if your Garand has orignal parts. Saw a fellow at a show who had a very thin book that told him parts and revision numbers by serial number. Thanks for any help you can provide.

If it was a thin book, then it was probably "The M1 Garand Serial Numbers & Data Sheets" by Scott Duff.

However, a better book for the novice is "M1 Garand 1936 to 1957" by Joe Poyer & Craig Riesch.
