I recently bought a new Colt model O1991 and haven't done a thing to it. Would like to hear everyone's recommendations.

I recommend you load it and shoot it at once.

Buy five Wilson D47 8-round mags.
Buy 1000 rounds of decent FMJ ammo (I use Federal).
    Get some targets set up at 3yds, 5yds, 7yds, 15yds, 25yds.

If you are happy with it why do anything? The choices are limited only by your imagination and budget. A little fluff and buff, slimline ambi safety, and night sights maybe in order. I have 1911s that run the gammut from bone stock to nothing that hasn't been changed. I love them all but wouldn't want to carry a bullseye gun or to shoot a small light carry in bullseye.

Actually, I bought it to accommodate a Colt Ace II slide. The trigger's a little stiffer than my others, but I can live with it. Was wondering why people keep telling me that a .45 auto needs modifying as it comes from the factory. .22's shoot just fine, and I'm satisfied with the accuracy at 30 yards (indoor range).

Hello, I have a Colt 1991A1. I suggest a full length guide rod. Not that it needs it, but it is a bit nicer. I also have wrap around grips with finger groves, a definate plus.
