Gunstock Wood Section Needs Added to GunBroker

I think we need to have a section under Gunsmith Supplies that is for selling raw wood gunstock blanks



However, I do not see where I can make this suggestion. Currently eBay handles all of this wood, but will not handle firearms and ammo due to thier policies. If you were to post a nice peice of wood on GunBroker, it would get swallowed up in a general category and lost in an area with all of the finished and used stocks.

What do you htink and how do we contact them?

I have seen and bid on stock blanks in the past, they did not get swallowed up. A category would not hurt if there are enough offerings.

You can always place an AD in the WANTED portion of the Forums, or look on the Aution Site under Gun Parts.....! But sorry to say...a Forum designed to Gun Stocks and Stock Blanks would require a new make over, and I don't believe the Higher Ups would go along with the Request........But, I'll pass your idea along to Headquarters, and see what They have to say about the idea.....Happy New Year to you.......Best.......

My issue is this: I would prefer to use this site for my auctions especially due to aome of the eBay policies and stances on political issues. However, I am affraid these blanks would not get just review in an auction because they are in ageneral category. On eBay, I can get about 125-150 for these blanks, but here I wonder if i could even get 50?

What category and listing would this go under. When I search for blank, walnut, or gunstock, I end up with 25 pages of auctions to go through to see if there is one even here.

Like I said, I prefer this auction house because it is so user friendly and overall a better place of business in my opinion, just don't feel it is the best place for my wood right now.

Correct, I want a place to sell wood, other than eBay, where custom gunsmiths and hobbiests can look over the wood and bid. Currently we have to use eBay. I sell under a different account than my 333.

I think GunBroker is the right place for this kind of auction.

Why isn't the "parts/ stocks" cat. good enough? If things get too specific, the whole site gets a little hard to navigate.

exactly, parts and stocks is what stock blanks should be in. besides, youre gonna save big bucks by being on gb instead of fleabay. and gb members can always use the search engine for 'stock blank.' it is afterall, the way 99% of shoppers shop for auctions. they dont put in revolvers, they put in s&w 41, etc...
trust me, if you put a stock blank on, and somebody wants one, youll get hits.

The reason part and then stock doesnt work is because there is over 1200 auctions in there for completed stock and synthetics. The reason more people are starting to use ebay for selling such wood is that they can get there product out there easier. It can be cross listed in guns, and woodworking. There is a reason why you can find so many gunstock blanks on ebay and only 2-5 raw blanks on GunBroker. If everyone is happy with GunBroker just the way it is, then great, but there are a lot of us that will have to continue to use eBay for our auctions and we really do not want to.

It just seems a shame to not give GunBroker the best chance against ebay. If I listed a blank here today it would blend in with the other 1200 synthetics and stock parts, and that is the reason wood merchants are not on here.

As a buyer why would I even check the GunBroker pages when no one is selling here. There is a reason!

using the search block on the gb home page, i just clicked 'stock blanks,' and got hits in 5 seconds....
again, i say, youre thinking that shoppers only click into catagories. catagories are a thing of the past with the search feature installed.
