AK Guys, got a question for you.

Guy at school is selling a Cougar/cougir/couger? AK74, side folding stock similar to the one found on the Tantals. Built on a Ohio Ordnance receiver. Also has the AK74 muzzlebreak, which is tacked in place. He is asking 300$ for it. What do you guys think? Is it worth the price? I'd have to sell a couple of my guns to buy it, so I want to be sure.

They are fine, price is OK if it is well built, but good luck finding ammo. 5.45x39 is non-existant right now.

AK-47.net says the Cugir is Romanian made and the receivers are well-made.

Go to this page and scroll down for a paragraph on the Cugir.

Bs on the 5.45 availability, Cheaper than Dirt has it for about the same price as 7.62. I would take it for 300.they arent getting any cheaper. The Sars are the only imported Ak's with recievers built to military specs. Although I would rather have one in .223.

So why did you waste everyone elses space on this post?

The only reason I would have to sell a couple is because I'm a student and I'm not making as much money as I would like.

I think it's a good price, but I wouldn't buy it unless you test fire it first. Make sure it doesn't have any problems. Keep in mind that you can buy a brand new romanian ak-47 out of shotgun news for under $400.00. You could buy the new gun, then add all the trick stuff to it when you can afford it. Just my thoughts.
