    They are supposed to be more reliable like the 30 round mags. I have some DPMS factory mags (curved 20 rounders) that shoot just fine. I have 30 year old 20rd straight mags that shoot just fine as well though.

    I've got a bunch of the straight older 20 rounders. Never a single problem with them.

    I dont know how you can improve on 100% reliability.

    All we had when I was in Vietnam were 20's and they worked great all the time.

    I think its just for aesthetics. I have a whole buncha colt straight 20rd mags with metal followers and probably the original spring, and I haven't had a problem with any of them.
