I know the grip changed at a certain serial number prefix but which one?

Also which butt style came first round or square and why did they change it?

Thanks as always

W....._45, The grip change came at the 151 S/N prefix (mid to late '74). BUT... both grips are square back. The grips on the left are pre 151 and slightly into the 151 prefix, but rare into the 151. The grips on the right are post 150 prefix.

The change came from complaints of the (150 type grip) hammer rolling into the web of the hand from recoil .

The round butt "RB" grip could be ordered on select models throughout production. '72 thru '88.

    Hope this helps.
