Just found a box of gas checked cast .312" 160 gr bullets. Cant find any of my reloading data for these in 7.62 X 39 Russian. Are these too heavy to reload with? Any reloading data available for th is heavy slug?

I used .303 Savage data to load 170gr. cast in 7.62x39.
Do so at your own risk, it worked for me.

edited November -1 has data for 150 and 180 gr (the 180 is a subsonic pest control load!) Run a google search, you should get some hits. Most likely those bullets you have are for 7.62x54, but SHOULD be able to do some SKS loads with them. On a fast load, recoil likely to be stout. Be careful of OAL on your loads- you may be getting too much bullet inside cartridge case to get length that will cycle thru action- and in doing that, you reduce case capacity, start pressures going up.
