Does anybody know if this will fit a j.c. higgins model 50? I know it it is an FN mauser 98 Action in .270 win.

Mauser 98 F34 Phantom Black Stock
from Fajen. Here is the link.

The Hoosier Gun Works cross reference list for the J.C. Higgins name says to see the Sears name. Under Sears the Model 50 cross references to a FN (Fabrique National) Mauser action. I will venture a guess that the stock will fit with some modification if the bolt handle is bent down. Not sure about the barrel channel fitting.

    1923model12win,

Your barreled action should 'drop in' to these stocks since they use a sporter taper barrel.

Here are the instructions for putting your barreled action in the stock you asked about:

    http://www.battenfeldtechnologies.com/downloads/instructions/521364-Mauser-Synthetic-Stock-instructions.pdf

The second page of the .pdf lists the barrel contours and the dimensions.

While the price seems all too reasonable for nearly everyone to be able to afford, the quality is definitely lacking. The material used in the production of these stocks is too flexible to maintain any form of rigidity to promote accuracy. Yes, it's a quick fix for a new replacement stock but it won't serve you well at all. Cheap is the operative word here. Avoid this product in favor of one that will do a better job such as a Bell and Carlson.

    Best.
