Our Sheriff in Yakima County has said he will not enforce BUT nobody knows what the City Police Chief or the State Patrol will do nor will they publicly say. The magazine capacity ban that will probably pass will just be a gross misdemeanor and who knows if the DA will even prosecute. There?s also a bill that will require a class before getting your carry license ( I don?t know yet if that means if I?ll have to go take a class before my permit expires.) We?re about to the boiling point in this State.

It sounds like Washington State should not b legislating gun control laws. The majority of the counties in the state rejected the laws... In a worst-case scenario, I think it should be a city by City case if they think they have to make laws. But truly I think they should quit trying to violate the constitution...

    C&P from the article:

However, 27 of Washington??s 39 counties rejected the ballot measure. Many of those counties are in the state??s more rural, sparsely populated districts.

DEMOCRATs never really care about any constitution federal or state. Given a supermajority, they will expunge or legislate the cons away in their first session.

    Devil?s advocate...
Sheriff and others are sworn to uphold the law. Which laws may they pick and choose to up hold?
But then, many choose not to uphold immigration laws, so...

I would say that "Sheriff and others are sworn to uphold "Constitutional Laws"

More sheriffs and Counties are reporting they will not enforce I-1639 by the day. Screw the Democrats and idiot voters who voted the ridiculous initiative into law. It violates the US and Washington State Constitutions.

I think that taking a class is a good idea.

In it, they teach you when and when not you can even pull your Gun. You learn the Laws and they give different scenarios of what would happen if you did have to shoot someone.

You would be right... Here is the oath that most state, county and local law enforcement agencies use

"On my honor, I will never betray my badge, my integrity, my character or the public trust. I will always have the courage to hold myself and others accountable for our actions. I will always uphold the Constitution, my community, and the agency I serve."

There's a lack of the word law in that oath.... But it does mention the Constitution. .

It was explained in an article I read and alluded to above. Like many States, liberals have chosen to dominate politics in the major cities. They dominate the vote totals and pass liberal legislation to the consternation of a major portion of the State. This law apparently was a referendum and it passed for this reason.

Its why Democrats, Liberals and Socialist are so desparate to rid the Constitution of the Electoral College.

Yeah. Wonderful idea. The state decides who gets to teach. The state decides what gets taught. The state decides who gets to attend. The state decides when someone can attend. The state decides why someone can attend. The state collects money so you can take a class. The state collects money when you apply to take a class. The state collects money so people can get trained to teach the class. The state collects money so they can review and print course materials.

That may be true where you live, but not here.

Some Gun Stores here offer free classes in exchange for your business! We are a "Shall Issue" State so the State has no say so in who trains you. They just have to be Certified to teach. The only Money the State collects is the Money for Fingerprinting, Background checks and your Photo ID.

Would you even be able to pass a Background check?

We are presently a shall issue state as well. Can you not foresee other ends? It is this exact shortsightedness that continues to compromise rights away. I'll pass on it.

One thing I like about living in the South. We do not tolerate crap like they do in OR, IL, and the other DEMOCRAT states. We take an proactive approach rather than a reactive approach when our rights are infringed upon.
