star on cylinder

Have a 1912 ish Colt Bisley somebody put a .357 barrel and cylinder on. The cylinder has a very small star on the front. I remember this as being significant but I can't remember why.
Anyone know?

    I'm not a real Colt guy, but if I remember correctly a 5 pointed star meant the cylinder was made of a high strength steel while a 6 pointed star, which was normally found on the trigger guard, meant that the pistol was returned to Colt for rework.
