Hello

Can anyone help me date this carbine by its serial number.
Is there a list showing dates of manufacture?

    I would think perhaps a proof mark might be your path.

    added "the company began to market the first El Tigre rifles in 1923." I'm thinking the earlier rifles were Tigre, but is wiki so you should do more research.

    Spain went to mandatory proof marks, after he First World War, (circa mid 1920's?). As Charlie noted if there are proof marks? One should be a coded date.

    No proof marks on the metal.
    On stamp on the underside of the stock, but cannot see it clearly.
    Serial # starts with an A Possibly pre 1920

    I don't know if there is a DOM list, but the A prefix started in 1927. The ones from 1931 on have the Republican Bank proof stamp. Made from 1919-1937. Nothing is really clear on the patent rights, some say Winchester sold them the rights for 5 years, then they made some minor changes to continue product by Spanish patent law. .44 Largo is the most common chambering, that's what the Spanish called the .44/40 Winchester.
