16 ga Stevens DB model 5100

Just acquired at auction. Gun has no serial #. has a capital C in a circle and D F. How does this convert to YOM etc. Nice gun. Two beads checkering. Im gonna like it. Thanx for help.

    Sometimes its real hard to date them. So this was cut and pasted "stevens 5100
    dear sir I have one myself that i recently recieved from my father who got it from his father. after getting it i looked it up. it was made only one year then the war broke out and all metal was needed for the war effort. are you ready????? 1941 was the only year that model was made."

    1941 proceeds the later date code in which the circle C would be 1951

    A 1949 B 1950 C 1951 D 1952 E 1953 F 1954 G 1955 H 1956 I 1957


    J 1958 K 1959 L 1960 M 1961 N 1962 P 1963 R 1964 S 1965 T 1966


    U 1967 V 1968 W 1969 X1970

    the 5100 was the forerunner of the 311, very similar. inexpensive but serviceable shotguns.

    Does the 5100 have the "tenite" stocks? Man they can stink with the chemical break down I think. Durable utility DB's.

    This one does not. Dont kno which model had tenite stocks
