Looking for info on old German rifle

Looking to see if anyone can provide any information on an old German rifle—probably 1900 to 1930s mfg. Barrel marking M.A.G. Meiner & Sohn Altenburg. Unknown caliber. Has double set trigger. Bolt action. Bolt has a “B” above a “U” on it. Octagonal barrel. I can’t even find any information online. Any information would help.

Anton Melchior Gmeiner & Sohn (= son Heinrich Anton Gmeiner) were country gunmakers at Josephsplatz 2 in Altenburg, Thuringia, then in the petty state Duchy Saxe – Altenburg. The Gmeiners were gunmakers to the court of the Dukes of Saxe – Altenburg, Erich I and Erich II.  Business founded in 1784, taken over by his two sons, 10 workers.  Pretty much a custom (Guild) gunmaker.

    help any?

CHME — I was looking under Meiner, not Gmeiner. So it’s actually Gmeiner then? I don’t actually have the gun, it belongs to a friend so I’m going by what he told me. I found absolutely nothing under Meiner, so I think you’ve solved that. I really appreciate the help.
