Saiga 308-1 start of import time line

I've been trying to find this answer for a while and have searched up and down the net using everything from Google to Dogplie search engines. Is anyone aware of where I'd be able to find the year that we started to be able to purchase the Saiga Izhmash line of rifles. The best I am able to find is, Russia started manufacturing the Saiga 308 line of rifles in the 1990's. I'm looking for an actual year we started to have these imported. Any information would be awesome. Preemptively, thank you for any leads or information!
